In the Netherlands, a Christian camp recently held an emotional baptism service, where several people dedicated their lives to Jesus. Among them, Chris, a young man in a wheelchair, touched everyone’s hearts as he was baptized with the help of two friends, demonstrating that there are no barriers to following Christ.
The event brought together believers of different ages and denominations, who gathered around a pool, worshiping and witnessing what many described as “transformative moments.” Despite Chris’s mobility challenges, his friends carried him, immersed him in the water, and performed his baptism. “Nothing can stop the desire to serve Jesus,” said one of the witnesses.
During the ceremony, one young man declared, “Through your public profession of faith, I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
After emerging from the water, Chris shared his testimony: “It’s a new life.” His decision was celebrated on social media and by the ministry that organized the event. “This young man showed that surrender overcomes impossibilities. A willing heart and Jesus do the rest,” they said.
A participating Christian added, “They had to leave their old life in the waters and rise to something new with Christ. After that, they were also filled with the Holy Spirit and began a new life with Him. We are grateful to be part of this and to proclaim who Jesus is. God is good.”
The church highlighted the biblical story from Mark 2:3-12, where a paralyzed man is brought to Jesus by his friends through a roof, emphasizing the importance of faith and community.
This testimony shows how love and faith can overcome any physical or social obstacle. When a community comes together in service and compassion, the Gospel becomes visible, transcending human limitations and building lives with renewed hope. No difficulty, disability, or barrier can stop God’s work in those willing to follow Him. Each baptism and act of communal support reflects the transformative power of Christ that restores and gives new life.
