Parents of Slain Security Guard File Lawsuit Against PA for Compensation

The parents of Vyacheslav (Vladi) Golev, a security guard who was murdered at a checkpoint in April 2022, have submitted a unilateral request to seize funds from the Palestinian Authority (PA). The move is part of a broader compensation claim they filed against the PA, citing its controversial "pay-to-slay" policy, which provides monthly stipends to terrorists and their families.

Golev was fatally shot while on duty at the entrance checkpoint to the city of Ariel in the northern West Bank. During the attack, he shielded his fiancée, Victoria Fligelman, from gunfire, sacrificing his life to protect her. The two attackers, along with the weapons used in the assault, were apprehended shortly after in the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan, following a joint operation by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), the IDF, and the Israel Police, according to an official statement.

This legal action comes amid a wave of lawsuits recently filed against both the Palestinian Authority and the terrorist organization Hamas, many of which are connected to the October 7 attacks.

Who was Vyacheslav Golev?

Golev came from a Haredi (ultra-Orthodox Jewish) family and was a student at Ariel University, residing in the same city where the attack occurred. He is survived by his parents and seven siblings.
