IDF Expands Gaza Operations, Intercepts Drone from the East

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have intensified their operations in the Gaza Strip, announcing the interception of a drone approaching from the east, following recent strikes on Houthi-controlled ports in Yemen.

Escalating Threats from Israeli Leadership

Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stark warning in response to these developments, stating, "If the Houthis persist in launching missiles toward Israel, they will face severe consequences. We will target their leaders, just as we have with Yahya Sinwar and Mohammed Sinwar in Gaza, Nasrallah in Beirut, and Haniyeh in Tehran. Abd al-Malik al-Houthi in Yemen will not be an exception."

His statement referenced the confirmed killing of Yahya Sinwar, a former Hamas leader, in mid-October, and the recent, but unconfirmed, strike on his successor, Mohammed Sinwar, earlier this week.

Netanyahu Signals Ongoing Military Campaign

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reinforced this stance, declaring that these actions mark just the beginning of a broader campaign. "We will not stand by as the Houthis threaten us. Our response will be even stronger, targeting their leadership and the infrastructure that supports their aggression," he asserted.

Netanyahu also highlighted Iran's role, accusing it of providing critical support to the Houthis, and vowed to take all necessary measures to secure Israel's safety.

Warnings Issued Prior to Strikes

The IDF's Arabic spokesperson, Col. Avichay Adraee, posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) following the strikes, emphasizing that ample warnings had been provided before the attacks, stating, "He who warns is excused."
