A recent survey by the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) reveals that a majority of Israelis are not concerned about the ongoing humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, even as aid begins to enter the region.
According to the poll, 64.5% of respondents expressed no concern about humanitarian aid conditions in Gaza, while only 32% reported being concerned. This data comes as the IDF opened two humanitarian aid centers on Tuesday, operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, with new protocols reportedly in place to prevent Hamas from seizing control of food supplies in northern Gaza.
The survey also highlighted a deep division within Israeli society regarding the future of Gaza. 42% support a technocratic government as outlined in the Egyptian proposal, while 39.5% favor full Israeli control over the territory. Furthermore, 25.4% support the return of Israeli settlements to the Gaza Strip.
Public opinion is also sharply split on renewed military operations, known as Operation Gideon’s Chariots. While 47.5% oppose continuing military action, 43.5% support it. Despite the intensity of the conflict, only 31% of respondents believe that renewed fighting will succeed in bringing back the hostages held in Gaza.
Finally, the poll revealed skepticism toward former U.S. President Donald Trump’s support for Israel, with 51% of those surveyed stating that they believe Trump only supports Israel when it serves his own interests.
