Kimberly Elise, acclaimed for her role in The Manchurian Candidate, has publicly shared her powerful testimony of encountering Jesus and renouncing New Age practices. Though raised with Christian values, Elise revealed that her family rarely attended church or studied the Bible, leaving her spiritually unfulfilled.
At 16, she began seeking God on her own, was baptized, and attended church. However, she regrets not receiving proper discipleship or truly understanding what it meant to follow Christ. Her acting career further distanced her from her faith, even though she always acknowledged her talents came from God.
By 2019, despite professional success, Elise had turned to New Age spirituality, engaging in practices like crystal use. She later rejected them, stating, “The problem with the New Age is that it’s a constant search; it never ends… it’s a bottomless pit with no truth.”
Her turning point came during a moment of deep desperation when she prayed earnestly for a sign. Soon after, a Christian woman encouraged her, affirming that God loved and saw her. “It was an answer to that prayer,” Elise recalled. “She would call and pray for me frequently.”
That experience led Elise to pick up a Bible. Reading the Gospel of Matthew, she was overwhelmed by the truth of Scripture and felt convicted to repent. “Everything was clear—this is the Truth. I couldn’t stop reading, and the Lord began to fill me with understanding. God showed me my sin, and I fell to my knees and pleaded for forgiveness.”
Elise’s story is a powerful reminder that true fulfillment and salvation are found in Christ alone. The Christian faith teaches that worldly spiritual solutions, such as the New Age, cannot satisfy the deep needs of the human heart or provide the eternal hope that Jesus offers.
Her testimony speaks to those searching for meaning in fleeting philosophies, affirming that the Gospel is sufficient to transform lives and restore communion with God.”.
She concludes by urging others to turn to Christ: “If you don’t know Jesus, seek Him before it’s too late. Believe, repent, and surrender to Him. If you once knew Him but have strayed, repent and cry out—He wants you to come home too.”
