IDF Urges Civilians to Evacuate Khan Yunis Amid Ongoing Military Operations; Over 100 Rocket Components Found

Gaza Strip, As Israel intensifies its military campaign against Hamas infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday called on civilians in the southern city of Khan Yunis to evacuate the area immediately due to active combat operations.

IDF Arabic-language spokesperson, Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee, issued a public warning via social media platform X (formerly Twitter), urging residents to move westward toward the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone. He emphasized that the evacuation order does not apply to the Al-Amal Hospital, which remains operational.

The evacuation appeal comes amid renewed IDF activity in Khan Yunis, where units from the Kfir Brigade have been conducting targeted operations against terrorist infrastructure. According to an official statement, Kfir Brigade soldiers discovered a weapons storage facility containing over 100 rocket components and other military equipment. The troops subsequently dismantled the cache and neutralized the components on site.

In addition to uncovering and destroying the weapons depot, IDF forces reportedly engaged with armed militants in the area, killing dozens of terrorists and dismantling further terrorist infrastructure throughout the Gaza Strip.

The IDF has reiterated its commitment to minimizing harm to civilians, calling for compliance with evacuation orders as it continues operations aimed at degrading the military capabilities of terror organizations operating from within densely populated areas.

This latest development highlights the ongoing volatility in southern Gaza, where military and humanitarian concerns continue to intersect amid protracted conflict.
